Oil and Pastel I Landscape and Still Life Artist
Joanne Talbot Quinn has been an artist most of her life. Though experienced in working with all media, Joanne prefers painting with pastel and oil paint.
Her painting style crosses Realism with the softer edges and painterly qualities of Impressionism. She is inspired by the gentle beauty and spirit of New England and the Canadian Maritimes. Joanne’s wish is that the people who see her paintings establish a connection between her work and nature with all its riches.
A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in both painting and art education, Joanne has taught students from grades Kindergarten through High School art and photography for over twenty-five years. She continued her professional career working for an in house advertising department at an engineering firm. Joanne has also served as a pastel workshop instructor for Art Associations and Art Schools in Massachusetts and Prince Edward Island. She resides in both Eastham and Princeton, MA.
The award winning artist has participated in numerous group exhibitions including with Academic Artists Association, Princeton Arts Society, Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and the Provincetown Art Association and Museum.
Joanne has studied with painters Rosalie Nadeau of Orleans, Massachusetts and David Lussier of Woodstock, Connecticut. You can often find Joanne set up and painting in Orleans and Eastham at the National Seashore, committed to capturing the essence of the meadows, fields and marshes of the Cape Cod landscape.
