Sissi Sneve-Schultze

Snefrid "Sissi" Sneve-Schultze is an award winning oil painter who resides in Eastham, MA. A native of Bardu, Norway, Sissi emigrated to the United States in 1980 and received her BA in Drawing and Painting from Minnesota State University in 1984.

She has continued her study in art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, MA where she lived and worked until her move to Cape Cod in 1993.

Sissi is a full-time artist who prefers to paint directly from life, still life in her studio or en plein air on this gorgeous peninsula known as Cape Cod.  She is available for commissioned work through the gallery, as well -- structures, portraits, pet portraits, your favorite "B & B," ... the sky is the limit!

My paintings pay homage to the bounty and beauty in the world with all its imperfections. It is my way of expressing my thanks and appreciation for the agelessness embodied in all life.

Sissi paints a still life at the gallery -- early lay in and she's onto something really good!

Since launching her career as a full-time artist in 2000, Sneve-Schultze has operated an art studio in Eastham. Included among her professional credits are Associate Memberships in these prestigious art societies: Oil Painters of America and Allied Artists of America. The artist’s work has been shown at National Juried Exhibitions and at numerous galleries. Her work is exhibited on Cape Cod exclusively by Gallery 31 Fine Art.

I am a professional artist because I love making art and immersing myself in the creative process. Art is and always has been my gateway to all that is positive, life affirming and joyous in life, and my paintings are the way in which I express that positivity. The process of putting paint to canvas or paper inspires and uplifts me in a moment and greatly affects how I relate to others, the world at large and to myself specifically. I create artwork because I see beauty, meaning and purpose in the ordinary everyday objects and images.

Sissi’s Sunflowers By the Sea was chosen by Cape Cod Life to be the cover image on this year’s annual ART edition.
