Landscape and Still Life Artist in Oil and Pastel
After a long and successful career in marketing and branding financial institutions and higher education, Paula David has reconnected with her artistic roots to pursue a life as a full-time artist. She paints what she loves, capturing the beauty and the character of Cape Cod and the Islands in oil and pastel.
Paula and her husband Ken live in nearby Brewster, where they lovingly restored a quintessential 1920’s cottage. A graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University , Paula studied marketing and visual communications. She began her career as a graphic designer and creative director for several advertising agencies and later rose to be a senior-level marketing executive and well-known brand strategist. She built and cultivated several world-class marketing organizations and branded some of the nation’s largest and most respected higher education and financial institutions, earning numerous national awards for excellence in her field.
In addition to her professional pursuits, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, is a member of the Children’s Circle of Care at Boston Children’s Hospital, and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Worcester Boys and Girls Club and Discover Central Massachusetts.
Paula continues to hone her craft and has studied with many of the Cape’s foremost artists. She has been juried into many national and regional art exhibitions and often can be found painting on site locally, including at Gallery 31 Fine Art.
